John Bowles after Zocchi
A View of Florence taken from above the Bridge called Rubaconte on the River Arno
14.5 x 11.5 inches
A copper plate engraving in strong original colour; published in London by Robert Wilkinson in 1790.
A scarce view of the River Arno in Florence looking west towards the Ponte Vecchio with Bellesguardo rising to the left of the picture. The scene is enlivened with boats and figures showing fishermen stripped to the waist in the river extending their rods into the water.
