Robert Dodd (1748-1816) was a painter, etcher and engraver of sporting subjects and topographical views. He collaborated with many of the leading artists of the day including Ibbetson whose style is often compared with that of his contemporary, George Morland. This delightful scene depicts two Georgian gentlemen out shooting with their gun dogs.
